Low Country

Partly Sunny 12x12
Partly Sunny 12x12

The first week of March and the forecast was for 3 to 6 inches of snow on Friday night.  We packed up the paints and headed south on Thursday to Low Country, (the coastal zone around Charleston, SC) trying to find some Spring.  The weather forecast was for sunny and 60's to low 70's....perfect plein air painting conditions.  Well, things don't always turn out exactly like expected, it turned out being cloudier and cooler than predicted....but still beautiful.  This is a painting I did near the town of Rockville, a charming small old town with great houses and huge live oak trees.  If you are in the Charleston area, I highly recommend side trips to Rockville and McClellanville.
